The Soho House Screening Series in association with NewFilmmakers is sponsored by SXM and is now in its sixth year. The series is the Soho House's most popular, longest running entertainment event and showcases the work of promising up-and-coming filmmakers worldwide, providing them with an industry forum in the heart of New York's entertainment district. The series has been reviewed in many of New York's publications including the New York Post and the Daily News.

Sean Candon MARK MACREADY AND THE ARCHANGEL MURDERS (2009, 33 Minutes, Video)
Manchester. Present day. The supernatural crime hub of the twenty-first century, home of Detective Mark 'Mac' Macready. When Macready wakes from a coma he was brutally put into by an unseen enemy, he is met with the unsettling news that his wife Christina is missing and a mass murdering monster has been on the rampage, which the press has affectionately dubbed 'The Archangel'. Realizing there is a connection between his wife's disappearance and the arrival of 'The Archangel' the intrepid detective descends into a paranoid, frenzied search through Manchester's dark supernatural underbelly. It is up to Mac, and Mac alone, to find his missing wife, solve the case and bring the merciless Archangel to cold blooded justice.

Delphinium is a stylized and lyrical coming-of-age portrait of Derek Jarman's artistic, sexual, and political awakening in post-War England. Part biographical narrative, part experimental collage, part personal meditation on the most controversial and important modern British artist and activist, the film finds in Jarman's childhood the stirrings of creative and individual epiphany that inspired a remarkable life

When Erma the busy oddball inventor cuts a man out of life, what's left behind is a big hole.. in the wall of her home! The incoming breeze awakens her dead grandmother who yells out: 'Go find a boy to fix that hole!' Erma makes a man to fill the hole but soon finds out that while she's chosen inventing over love, her invention is now a loving human.


Don DiNicola KARMA CATS THE CHINTAMANI STONE (2009, 8 Minutes, Video)
Two intrepid adventurers are lead by a mysterious disappearing cat on an interdimensional journey through time and space. 'Sight, touch, sound, taste, smell ... is that all we are?'


Brenda Milly Guzman COMICS (2009, 11 Minutes, Video)
After chasing her dream to Hollywood, comedy club waitress Laura returns to her old NYC stomping grounds in search of work, support from her friends and closure to the relationship with her ex-boyfriend - a selfish comic who has no idea he is about to become the father to Laura's unborn child. Laughs, drama and pride spiral out of control as staff and comics alike struggle to make their own dreams come true while making ends meet a NYC comedy club.
